Roseau to Have Public Restrooms as Part of Enhancement Plans
The government has proposed to construct public restrooms as part of the plans to fully develop and enhance the aesthetic beauty of Roseau. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit who also doubles as the Minister for Sustainable Development, Planning and Finance, said it is necessary to build public toilets in the capital city to cater to the needs of the growing populace.
While speaking to city stakeholders, Skerrit said public restrooms will be set up in strategic parts of the city so that it can be accessible to members of the general public with ease. He said the restrooms will operate at flexible hours during the day, and occasionally at nights when social events hold in the city.
“Aside from the museum where you have a few washrooms and near the West Bridge, there are no other public facilities in the city and we need to address this issue,” he said. He urged members of the public to suggest possible areas where the public restrooms can be sited. He said this is crucial because the DLP administration is a government that is inclusive and carries everyone along in matters of public policy.
