Representatives of the National Youth Council of Dominica (NYCD) are currently in Trinidad and Tobago for the 6th Caribbean Youth Leaders Summit. Interim president of NYCD, Kerdisha St. Louis, is in Trinidad for the conference and she thanked Dominican youths for making this year’s participation possible.

The event is put together by the Caribbean Regional Youth Council (CRYC). This year’s summit theme is “Promoting Youth Economic Empowerment – Building Synergies Towards Sustainable Caribbean Development”.

The 3-day conference holds from January 21-23. The annual summit is organized to promote youth involvement in national development and regional advancement. During the conference, youth advocates will discuss on creating a regional framework that will empower youths at developing solutions to developmental challenges.

While thanking Dominican youths for NYCD’s participation in this year’s summit, St. Louis said “We appreciate the trust and commitment of the young people of Dominica and we look forward to serving them more and bringing more projects and programs to benefit young people. At the end of the day that’s what the National Youth Council is all about.”

The interim president said the Dominican youths council has been positioned to occupy a strategic place because of the cooperation of youths at all levels of the council’s activities.
