Emerald Pool

Emerald Pool is one of Dominica’s most breathtaking natural attractions. It is located within the Interior of Dominica near the Central Forest Reserve in Saint David Parish. When the Imperial Road reaches the Emerald Pool Junction, you will take the northerly Castle Bruce Road. The pool is fed by a 40-foot waterfall, around L’Arouma Popotte and Crete Palmiste, under Morne Negres Marrons. Although it is around 300 meters outside the Morne Trois Piton National Park, it offers visitors an equally stunning and tranquil natural experience.

About Emerald Pool and it’s Natural Surroundings

The name Emerald Pool derives from the emerald-green appearance of its water, which occurs as sunlight filters through the surrounding dense, leafy vegetation. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters or wade through the pool to enjoy its soothing effects, particularly on hot days. The area is known for its rich biodiversity, with various trees and plants such as the Karapit tree, Chatannyé tree, Palmist, Mang Blan, Gommier, Bwa Dyab, Bois Bandé, and Bwa Kot, along with several types of tree ferns, growing in abundance.

The pool is a stunning backdrop for wedding ceremonies and movie scenes, adding to its cultural and scenic significance. Facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, and a snack bar have been built nearby to enhance visitors’ comfort, making Emerald Pool a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists exploring the natural beauty of Dominica while enhancing the island’s Tourism Industry.
