Dominica’s Rosamund Edward Moves To World Bank

Dominica’s Financial Secretary, Rosamund Edwards, has secured employment with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a regional representative for the country. She is on a pre-retirement leave in Dominica but has taken up duties in her new role at the World Bank.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit commended Ms. Edwards for her contributions to the development of the financial sector in Dominica. He described her as very dutiful and frugal with managing the country’s finances.

The prime minister revealed that Edwards was “very frugal, very detailed, very diligent and very responsible and I think she was an asset to Dominica especially during these very difficult periods.” He noted that the new World Bank employee will remain accessible and helpful to the government of Dominica when called upon.

Rosamund Edwards has been replaced by Denise Edwards, a former permanent secretary at the Ministry of Public Works. Skerrit expressed hopes that the new Financial Secretary will be a great asset to Dominica in the areas of finance and economic planning.

Edwards will be working hand in hand with the Minister of Finance to reshape the country’s finances and reposition the country’s economy for improved performance. He will also be working with major stakeholders within and outside the country to boost the country’s fortunes in all areas of positive growth and development.
