16 Football Clubs to Compete For $10,000 At the President’s Cup Championship
Sixteen clubs will be competing for the top prize of EC$10,000 at the President’s Cup championship which is scheduled to kick off in the next couple of weeks. The competition is organized by the Dominica Football Association (DFA) for the 2021 season and will feature top 10 clubs in the 2020 Premier Division and the top 6 for the Division One league.
According to the DFA, the competition will kickoff on January 20, 2021, and played on a knock-out basis.
At the Premier Division, the clubs that will be competing are:
- Sagicor South East FC
- Recovery Cup champions Promex Harlem
- LA Enterprises Bombers FC
- Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc LTD FC
- Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC
- East Central FC
- WE United FC
- Happi Bath Estate FC
- Middle Ham United FC
- LA Starz FC
At the Division One league, the clubs that made the cut are:
- Exodus FC
- Mahaut Soca Strikers FC
- ACS Pottersville Tarish United FC
- RC Doctors FC
- Busta Warner FC
- Police Sports Club
The DFA announced that the draw will hold at the Football House in Bath Estate by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5; and that each club will know who they are teamed up against after the draw. The overall winner of the competition will walk away with a EC$10,000 grand prize while the first runner-up will be awarded with a prize of EC$5,000.
