Val Ferry services between Dominica and Guadeloupe will resume on Friday, December 10. This development was announced by the managing director of Val ferry, Leroy Charles, on Thursday. Charles said Val Ferry has been out of operations between Dominica and the French Antilles for 22 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Charles said he is excited that ferry services will resume to serve the needs of travellers, businessmen, and medical patients across Dominica and Guadeloupe. He stated that this category of ferry customers had exercised great patience when ferry services were cut short, and ought to enjoy the best of sea travel on resumption of ferry trips.
He noted that Val Ferry services will run twice per week between Dominica and the French Antilles – Fridays and Sundays – until situation improves according to government mandates.
We were advised by the authorities of two trips so Val Ferry will be departing Guadeloupe on Fridays and Sundays at 8:30 am to arrive in Dominica at 11 am, departing Dominica for Guadeloupe at 2 pm to arrive in Guadeloupe 4 pm.

He however advised ferry customers to get COVID-19 vaccination to protect themselves and meet travel conditions in various Caribbean countries. He said governments in the French Islands will require proof of vaccination before admitting anyone to their countries, except for medical cases where specialized healthcare services may be the reason for the trip.
For instance, to go to the French islands, the vaccinated customer only requires to present their vaccination cards, recent PCR or Antigen test, along with the compulsory insurance, reservation, and a valid ticket; on the contrary, the unvaccinated customer must present an urgent documented reason, example a medical appointment, among other documents.
