Financial Controller

Job Description

Provide Company with the resources and financial tools necessary for its short and long-term development. Collaborate with and report to Executive Management to establish financial and accounting goals, strategies, plans, and policies. Exceed financial performance within the framework of the Company's overall financial policy & strategy.

Responsibility

• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and submission of monthly management accounts and year-end financial information and reporting requirements.
• Develop a comprehensive strategic and operational plan for the Finance and Accounting Department with annual operating and strategic budget.
• Prepare and monitor the overall annual budget for the company and make recommendations to achieve financial targets and business goals.
• Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.
• Ensure compliance local tax laws and accounting rules and standards.
• Responsible for cash flow management to improve efficiencies and reduce cost across the business.
• Make sound recommendations to increase revenue, improve productivity, control expenditure, and improve systems to contribute to the effective and profitable management of company funds.
• Develop and or apply appropriate financial risk management strategies.
• Address all assigned audit and compliance requirements by effectively responding to and/ or taking corrective action on internal and external audits, and/or other approved action items within agreed-upon established timeframes.
• Support fiscal control with financial analysis necessary for decision-making related to performance management and operational KPI.
• Ensure that each department is effectively supported in carrying our accounting or financial tasks.
• Manage the department's operations and human resource effectively to ensure equitable distribution of responsibilities.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting or Professional Accounting Qualification; ACCA, CPA, CGA. MSc in Finance will be an asset.
• A minimum of five (S) years of experience in a similar capacity or senior managerial level.
• Specific knowledge and experience with accounting software.
• Sound knowledge of Finance & Accounting Principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suites. MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas).
• Ability to analyze large amounts of financial data, prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Extensive experience in planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• A driver's license will be an asset.
• Excellent time management and analytical skills.
• Results-oriented.
