Two Men Commit Suicide by Hanging – Police Conduct Investigations

Police authorities are investigating the deaths of two men who committed suicide by hanging. Sammer Elias, 48, was found hanging by his neck in his yacht on Thursday, April 6; and Shervon Isidore, 28, was also found hanging by his neck in the house he lived in on Saturday, April 8.

Elias, who lived for many years in the United States, was the owner of the yacht in which his lifeless body was found. The vessel was found anchored about 75 feet away from Lalay Coco in Castle Comfort by fishermen who alerted the authorities.

His body was transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) where he was pronounced dead.

In the same vein, Isidore was found lifeless with a rope tied to his neck and dangling from the ceiling of a dilapidated house which he occupied. The house is located at Franklyn Lane in Goodwill. A doctor also confirmed him dead at the scene.

The bodies of both men were deposited at a morgue to await autopsy.

Police Inspector Fixton Henderson said law enforcement will investigate the direct and remote causes of the men’s death. He asked anyone with information regarding the double suicide to step out and help the police with their investigations.
