Dominica Clinches League B Promotion: Marshall’s Heroic Header Seals Victory

In a thrilling match at the A.O Shirley Recreational Ground in Tortola, Dominica secured their place in League B of the Concacaf Nations League with a resilient performance against the British Virgin Islands.

Defender Eustace Marshall, showcasing his prowess, delivered a crucial header in the 68th minute, propelling Dominica to a 2-1 victory. This marked a significant milestone as the Nature boys moved to the top of Group C with 7 points, ensuring their promotion with a game to spare.

The match began with Dominica pressing for qualification, creating numerous opportunities. Winger Javid George came close, hitting the woodwork, but the deadlock persisted until halftime. Dominica’s persistence paid off in the second half when Audel Laville broke through, putting the team in the lead in the 52nd minute.

However, a lapse in defense allowed the British Virgin Islands to level the score, with T’Sharne Gallimore capitalizing on a mistake in the 63rd minute. Undeterred, Dominica maintained their offensive pressure, and it was Marshall’s well-timed header, off a corner kick from Donte Warrington, that sealed the win.

Despite the late efforts from the BVI, Dominica held firm, securing a 2-1 victory and confirming their promotion to League B in the upcoming Concacaf Nations League.
