Ten finalists have been shortlisted for the 2019 Cadence Lypso Show which kicks of on November 2. The 10 finalists were selected in-house from a total of 21 contestants who auditioned for the event at the NCCU head office in Roseau.
The entire auditioners were a mix of former and new contestants. They all performed their songs before a panel of four judges. The songs were a mixture of R&B, Pop, Bouyon and Afrobeat among other popular musical genres. The judges rated the contestants on a scale of 35 points for melody, 25 points for lyrics, 25 points for creativity, and 15 points for rendition.

Webster “De Web” Marie is the first NCCU Cadence Monarch and has won the competition at least twice. Steve ‘Triumph’ Williams and John Mark were equally selected but placed on reserve. The forthcoming NCCU 2019 Cadence Lypso Show is its seventh edition and organized by Cadence Lypso Incorporated.
