Dominica’s Hilton Tranquility Resort Set to Boost Local Economy and Employment

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has highlighted the significant employment opportunities that the upcoming Hilton’s Tranquility Beach Resort in Salisbury will provide for Dominicans. Emphasizing the use of Citizenship By Investment (CBI) funds for sustainable development, Prime Minister Skerrit expressed confidence in the project’s positive impact on the local economy through the creation of both jobs and consistent revenue streams.

According to the Prime Minister, the resort is expected to permanently employ approximately 100 people, enhancing job security in the community. He also noted the broader economic benefits such as increased consumption and VAT revenue, which are vital for improving national self-sufficiency. The government remains committed to the project’s completion, with assurances of continued collaboration with project developers to ensure its success.

Hon. Denise Charles-Pemberton, minister for the Ministry of Tourism, during a recent site visit with the Prime Minister and other cabinet members, provided an update on the resort’s progress. The Hilton Tranquility Beach Resort and Spa is scheduled to open next year, strategically before the 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival, to maximize its debut impact. The resort will feature 101 rooms, 8 villas, 48 suites, a penthouse, 29 tree houses, and additional amenities including a Spa, gym, fine dining restaurant, wellness center, gift shop, tennis courts, and private cabanas.

Minister Charles-Pemberton also addressed public curiosity about the allocation of CBI funds, assuring that the investment in the Hilton Tranquility Resort is a direct response to such inquiries. She highlighted the unique and authentic experiences the resort will offer to affluent travelers seeking distinctive and luxurious accommodations.

With conference facilities to seat up to 200 people and its exclusive design, the Hilton Tranquility is poised to add a new dimension to Dominica’s tourism offerings, promising a unique blend of luxury and cultural immersion for visitors.
