Bataka, Kalinago Village

Bataka is the northernmost hamlet within the Kalinago Territory, located on Dominica’s northeast coast. It is situated within the Central Forest Reserve in Saint David Parish. Nestled between the serene Pagua Bay and lively Salybia, with Atkinson lying to its east, this vibrant community boasts stunning Atlantic Ocean views.

Bataka is strategically located near the Pagua River and is one of the eight villages within the Kalinago Territory. It is the last hamlet on Segment #6 of the Waitukubuli National Trail, the others include Gaulette River, Mahaut River, St. Cyr, Salybia, Sineku and Crayfish River. Concord, the final hamlet, is situated on the Dr. Nicholas Liverpool Highway and can be reached via the Concord-Salybia Road if you are within the Kalinago Territory. It is often mistakenly believed that Atkinson is a hamlet, but this is not the case.
