As a precautionary measure, DOWASCO has shut down pump stations on the western and northern parts of the island due to lightning and thunderstorms today, September 25th, 2024. These areas include Castaways, Batalie, Cuba Road, Soufriere, Scotts Head, Bellevue Chopin, Giraudel, and Eggleston.
As a result, the aforementioned areas may experience interruption in service until weather conditions have improved and the pumps reactivated.
DOWASCO also informs customers served by the Water Area 1 network that as a result of high turbidity, we are now serving customers via filtration. As a result, some customers, particularly those in elevated areas, may experience low pressure or temporary interruption in service until the turbidity is reduced and the system has been reopened.
