Ministry of Agriculture Observes 46th World Food Day
Every year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy joins the rest of the global community in observing World Food Day.
World Food Day is an international day celebrated worldwide on October 16th to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The aim of the day is to promote global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger, to highlight the need to ensure healthy diets for all and to raise awareness of food security and sustainable agriculture, while bestowing upon farmers, fishers, processors their importance to this vital sector. This year on the 46th observance of WFD is no exception.
This year’s theme, “Right to Foods for a Better Life and a Better Future,” emphasizes the vital importance of food security and sustainable agriculture for all.
We continue the tradition with a renewed commitment to highlighting the importance of access to nutritious food for all and the role of agriculture in ensuring a better future for our communities.
