ACE Engineering Signs $7.9M Contract for Citrus Facility Project
ACE Engineering has been awarded a $7.9 million contract by the Government of Dominica to construct a state-of-the-art Citrus Certification Facility at the Woodford Hill Agricultural Station. This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, is part of the Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project (EALCRP). It aims to revitalize the citrus industry and strengthen the agricultural sector post-Hurricane Maria.
The new facility will focus on enhancing citrus quality and safety, helping local farmers meet international agricultural standards. By providing certified materials, training, and advanced testing services, the facility is expected to create a pathway for Dominica’s citrus products to enter global markets.
The project involves the construction of a Potting House and various site enhancements, including perimeter fencing and site grading. ACE Engineering, a seasoned local firm with a proven track record in infrastructure development, will spearhead the construction phase.
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that this investment underscores the government’s dedication to creating a resilient and competitive agricultural sector. Once completed, the facility will not only support farmers in improving cultivation practices but also contribute to economic growth by bolstering exports and ensuring sustainable production practices.
The official contract signing, held at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room, marked a significant step forward for this transformative agricultural project, which promises to leave a lasting impact on Dominica’s farming community and economy.
