Job Description

Springfield Trading Ltd seeks an experienced Accounts Officer to analyze and review financial records. Your role will include ensuring compliance, managing risks, and supporting cost optimization. Ideal candidates have a degree in Accounting, strong analytical skills, and at least three years of experience.

As an Accounts Officer, your role involves analyzing and reviewing financial records and statements. You will evaluate risks, procedures, and internal management systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure efficient financial operations. Additionally, you will provide costing and inventory support to optimize resource allocation and minimize costs.

Responsibility

• Analyzing and reviewing financial records and statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Regularly monitoring the account activities of other pharmacy to identify any discrepancies or irregularities and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Evaluating risks associated with financial transactions, procedures, and internal management systems to minimize potential losses and enhance financial controls.
• Providing support in costing activities, including analyzing costs, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize resource allocation and reduce expenses.
• Ensuring that accounts are balanced and reconciled accurately, including bank reconciliations, ledger entries, and financial reports.
• Assisting in supervising front-end activities such as cash handling, transactions processing, and customer service to maintain efficient operations and compliance with company policies.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide management with insights into the company's financial performance and support decision-making processes.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies, including tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Effectively communicating financial information to internal stakeholders, including management and department heads, to support decision-making and ensure transparency.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements in financial operations, implementing changes, and monitoring their effectiveness to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Experience and Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a Professional Accounting Qualification to include ACCA would be an asset
• At least three years’ experience in a previous accounting/finance role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills (written & oral)
• Proficiency in Accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High integrity and ethical standards.
