DEXIA Addresses Sugar Shortage in Dominica

The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) apologizes for the temporary shortage of brown and white sugar currently affecting the island.

This delay was caused by disruptions at the in-transit port in Trinidad over the past three weeks.

The vessel Contship Pep, carrying our sugar consignment, is scheduled to depart Trinidad during the weekend of November 15, 2024, and is expected to arrive in Dominica by November 22, 2024.

We remain committed to restoring regular supplies and anticipate sugar will be available to the public by the last week of November 2024.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

For further information, please contact DEXIA at 448-2780 / 448-3494 / 448-3495; 275-3085.
