About The Bellevue Chopin Organic Farmers Group

Bellevue Chopin is a small community in the centre of the southern part of Dominica, at the foot of Morne Canotte and Morne Anglais. The Bellevue Chopin Organic Farmers Group was established in 2004 and is a vibrant Dominica Organic Agriculture Movement (DOAM) member. The group offers a broad range of organic farm products and recently installed a composting facility to support their sustainable practices.

• Diverse Crop Production: The group cultivates a variety of organic produce, including vegetables, herbs, and tropical fruits, using environmentally conscious methods. This approach enhances soil health and biodiversity, ensuring sustainable crop production.
• Composting Facility: The newly installed composting facility produces organic fertilizers, supporting the group's commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.
• Tourism Reception Centre: The group manages a newly built tourism reception centre funded by the European Union and the Government of Dominica under the SFA 2006 Tourism Sector Development Programme (TSDP). The reception centre promotes farm products, herbs, and spices and serves as the central dispatch point for tours to various herbal gardens. It also offers a range of local culinary delights.
• Farm Tours: Visitors can enjoy guided tours through the beautiful, verdant village of Bellevue Chopin, learn about organic farming practices, and taste fresh produce. Key farms include Broad Meadows, Harmony Garden, Charlette River Farm, and Mountain Creole Garden.
