I Have A RIGHT Foundation is a Rights-Based Non-Profit Organization in Dominica, established in 2017. It is dedicated to promoting and advancing the rights of children, girls, and youth, particularly in rural areas of Dominica. The foundation was founded by Valarie Honore, who, as a survivor of abuse, turned her experiences into positive actions to support the young community. To date, the foundation has reached almost 2,000 young people through various initiatives.

I Have A RIGHT Foundation engages in various activities to empower its beneficiaries:

• Leadership Programs: These programs train girls and youth in leadership, life skills, advocacy, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial skills.
• Creative and Performing Arts: These programs are used to build the capacity of children and youth to raise awareness of issues affecting them.
• Community Engagement: The foundation actively involves the youth in their schools and communities as agents of change.

• Youth Empowerment Symposium: This event allows students to engage with government and third-sector officials on issues that affect them.
• After School Education Support Program: Provides academic support to children struggling with numeracy and literacy.
• Voices of Youth Forum: A platform that fosters the establishment of Student Councils in local schools.

Empowering Girls

The foundation runs a "Girls for Success Library" in the Village of Wesley, which is more than just a reading space. It's a transformative environment for girls to learn, grow, and engage in important issues. Various programs are offered, including a Book Club, Homework Helpers, and Girl Talk sessions.

The foundation also calls for volunteers to support its mission, looking for individuals who are passionate about empowering girls and upholding the foundation's core values of respect, trust, accountability, advocacy, innovation, and collaboration.
