The Muslim Community of Dominica (MCD), established as an officially registered organization in 1995, represents the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah tradition of Islam. It has around 300 members who are integrated across various levels of Dominican society including professions like teaching, medicine, law, and labor.

- The first Muslims in Dominica arrived on European slave ships, with early Islamic influence fading due to the intermixing of slaves from diverse cultures and the suppression of freedom of worship.
- The 1960s saw a renewed interest in Islam among Dominicans, influenced partly by the Nation of Islam and the Black Power Movement. Since then, the Muslim community has grown, with a significant number of Dominicans converting to Islam.
