The Nature Isle Toastmasters Club (NITC), established in 2013, is a distinguished affiliate of Toastmasters International, dedicated to enhancing public speaking and leadership skills among individuals in Dominica.

Mission and Vision

NITC's mission aligns with Toastmasters International's goal to empower individuals to become effective communicators and leaders. By providing a supportive and positive learning environment, the club enables members to develop communication and leadership skills, fostering self-confidence and personal growth.

Meetings and Membership

The club convenes on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Meetings are currently held online, allowing for broader participation. Membership is open to all interested parties, offering personal and professional development opportunities through structured programs and peer feedback.

Activities and Programs

NITC offers a range of activities designed to enhance communication and leadership abilities:

• Prepared Speeches: Members deliver speeches on assigned topics, focusing on organization, clarity, and delivery.
• Table Topics: Impromptu speaking sessions that improve the ability to think and speak spontaneously.
• Evaluations: Constructive feedback sessions that help members refine their speaking and leadership skills.

Achievements

NITC has a history of accomplishments, including achieving the President's Distinguished Award for 2020/2021, reflecting the club's commitment to excellence and member development.

Community Engagement

The club actively engages with the local community by hosting open-house events and workshops and collaborating with other organizations to promote effective communication and leadership. For instance, NITC hosted an open house event featuring guest speaker Mr. Phoenix Belfield, General Manager of Dominica Cooperative Societies League Limited, to discuss the benefits of Toastmasters.
