The North East Agricultural Extension Office, located in Londonderry, Dominica, serves as a vital resource for farmers in the region. Operating under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, the office is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Services and Objectives

The primary mission of the Agricultural Extension Unit is to improve rural livelihoods by increasing farm incomes, boosting productivity, and promoting sustainable natural resource management. Key roles include technology transfer, human capital development, and building social capital through farmer organizations.

Recent Initiatives

In April 2021, the government, with funding from the World Bank, initiated the rehabilitation of the North East Agriculture Regional Office. This project aims to restore key infrastructure to better support agricultural activities in the area.

Additionally, the office has been involved in training programs to enhance farmers' skills. For instance, over forty farmers from Capuchin to Concord were trained in composting techniques to reduce input costs and promote healthy food production.
