The Portsmouth Port, located in Prince Rupert Bay on Dominica’s northwest coast, is a crucial maritime hub for the island. Portsmouth Port Facilities and Operations

The port features the Cabrits Cruise Ship Berth, situated near Fort Shirley in Cabrits National Park, designed to accommodate various cruise vessels. This berth allows cruise passengers easy access to Dominica’s rich historical and ecological sites. Additionally, the Longhouse Jetty, located approximately 10 minutes from the Cabrits area, handles cargo operations, including bulk carriers and smaller cargo vessels transporting goods to and from the island.

Recent infrastructure improvements, such as the 150-foot extension of the Longhouse Jetty, have significantly enhanced the port’s cargo-handling capacity, improving Dominica’s ability to manage agricultural exports, imported goods, and regional trade activities.
