Roosevelt Douglas Primary School in Dominica is named after the late Prime Minister Roosevelt 'Rosie' Douglas. It replaced the Portsmouth Government School, which was damaged in a 2004 earthquake. The new facility was gifted by the Regional Council of Martinique, symbolizing the strong ties between Dominica and the French islands, which Douglas had advocated for during his lifetime.
