Business Gateway Project

The Business Gateway Project is a key initiative launched by the Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) in 2008. Funded by the European Union under the Special Framework of Assistance and supported by the Dominica Government, this project was designed to bolster the private sector by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various sectors, including manufacturing, services, and agri-business.

Collaboration and Impact

The project brought together government agencies, NGOs, and international partners to enhance business capabilities, fostering economic growth and sustainable development. The National Export Strategy, developed in conjunction with the International Trade Centre and funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), is among the significant outcomes of this initiative. The Business Gateway Project also led to the creation of the Export Promotion and Development Department, which has since played a crucial role in promoting Dominica’s exports.

This initiative has made substantial strides in supporting local businesses, contributing to Dominica’s broader economic resilience and growth.
