Foufou, Tikyap, Lamouchè (Antillean Crested Hummingbird)

One of the smallest birds in Dominica, the Foufou, Tikyap, Lamouchè (Antillean Crested Hummingbird – Orthorhyncus cristatus) is frequently seen around the Dominica Botanic Gardens. This fast-flying bird with iridescent feathers is often found feeding on nectar. Its rapid movements and high-pitched call are common in gardens and along forest paths.
