Foufou Madè, Fal-wouj (Purple-throated Carib)
The Foufou Madè, Fal-wouj (Purple-throated Carib – Eulampis jugularis) is a dazzling hummingbird near Boeri Lake and the Central Forest Reserve. Its iridescent purple throat and rapid flight patterns make it easily identifiable. Feeding on nectar plays a crucial role in pollinating flowers along Dominica’s hiking trails such as the Waitukubuli National Trail, Syndicate Nature Trail and Morne Anglais Trail.
