Macrobrachium Crayfish (Macrobrachium carcinus)
The Macrobrachium Crayfish (Macrobrachium carcinus) is a freshwater crayfish species native to Dominica. Often called “Ecrevisse”, this crustacean is found in rivers and streams. It feeds on plant material and small invertebrates, helping to clean aquatic environments and contributing to the sustainability of Dominica’s freshwater ecosystems while providing an important food source for larger fish.
