Dominica Passport

Dominica’s Passport is a valuable travel document offering numerous benefits, including enhanced global mobility and access to various economic and social opportunities. Issued by the Government of Dominica to its citizens, the passport is a critical component of the country’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program.

About the Dominica Passport

As a CARICOM passport, it follows the common design standards with a black cover featuring the country’s coat of arms and the CARICOM logo. Since July 19, 2021, Dominica has been issuing biometric passports, having invested $13 million to upgrade its system for improved national security.

Dominica’s Passport’s most significant advantage is the extensive travel freedom it provides. As of July 19, 2022, Dominican passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access (including eTAs) to 145 countries and territories. According to the Henley Passport Index, this ranks the Dominican passport 34th in the world in terms of travel freedom, tied with the Taiwanese passport. Passport holders may travel to the Schengen Area relatively easily and without challenging visa requirements.

Dominica’s CBI Program

Obtaining a Dominica passport is streamlined through the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, which involves significant economic contributions through the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) or real estate investments. Contributions start at $100,000 for a single applicant, with additional fees for family members. The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) regulates the issuance of passports, ensuring thorough vetting and maintaining the program’s integrity.
