Ignatius Alexander’s Early Life and Education

Alexander, affectionately known as “Iggie,” began his education at Saint Mary’s Academy in Roseau, Dominica. Musical Career

During his college years in New York, Alexander co-founded the musical group “The 10:15,” named after the train departure time from the Bronx to New Rochelle. The group released three albums: The 10:15 (1970), Making Tracks (1972), and Songs of the Father (1974). Their notable hits included “I Am the Vine” and “Blessed Are You.” After the group’s dissolution, Alexander pursued a solo career, performing at various events and collaborating with artists, including his nephew, King Shakey, forming the duo Ed Schaeker & Ignatius. They released two albums: Optimistic Wanderers (1991) and To Life (1993).
