La Plaine

La Plaine is a village of about 1,300 people in the Saint Patrick Parish of Dominica. Following Grand Bay, it is the second-largest town in the parish. It is about 9 miles or 15 kilometres to Roseau, the capital city of Dominica.

La Plaine was hit by Category 5 Hurricane Maria on September 19, 2017 and the devastation was so massive that native Dominicans abroad raised funds via GoFundMe and other online portals to help rebuild the village.
