Magua Estate

Magua Estate, near Bellevue Chopin in Saint Patrick Parish, Dominica, was Douglas Macrae Taylor‘s private residence. The estate is accessible via Magua Road, which connects to Bellevue Chopin Main Road. It is surrounded by several other estates, including Fontaine Estate, Liberty Estate, Mount Lofty Estate, and Gommier Estate, with Ravine Grand running through its grounds.

It was there that Taylor immersed himself in studying Dominica’s Indigenous people, meticulously documenting their traditions within the Carib/Kalinago Territory.
