Morne Trois Pitons National Park
The Morne Trois Pitons National Park was established in 1975 and it became a World Heritage Site in 1997. The name of the park means “three mountain peaks” in French.
The Morne Trois Pitons is the highest peak in Dominica. The national park has lots of volcanic activities, and these can be seen in features such as geysers, the Boiling Lake, Titou Gorge, the Emerald Pool, and areas of boiling mud ponds.
The Morne Trois Pitons National Park covers 17,000 acres of land. The highest point in the peaks within the park is 4,672 feet. Many volcanoes within the park are not active, and these include Morne Micotrin, Morne Watt, and Morne Anglais.
