Princess Margaret Hospital

Princess Margaret Hospital, located in Goodwill, Roseau, was Dominica’s primary national referral hospital. It served the island for decades and provided essential healthcare services such as general surgery, pediatric care, maternity services, and trauma management. The hospital was the cornerstone of Dominica’s healthcare system, offering curative, rehabilitative, and emergency services. It also housed diagnostic services like radiography, dialysis, and blood banking.

Over the years, Princess Margaret Hospital faced challenges due to its ageing infrastructure, but it remained vital in delivering quality healthcare to Dominicans. With an extensive network of clinics and emergency care units, it played a crucial role in ensuring accessible healthcare throughout the island. In 2019, the hospital was renamed the Dominica China Friendship Hospital after receiving substantial upgrades and support from the Chinese government.

Though it now operates under a new name, Princess Margaret Hospital holds a legacy as Dominica’s primary healthcare institution, providing critical medical care for generations.
