Salton Waterfalls

Salton Waterfalls in Dominica are a breathtaking showcase of the island’s natural landscapes and biodiversity. Flanked by the Lancashire Estate, Brantridge Estate, Harris Soltoun Estate, and Green Hill Estate, Salton Waterfalls offers a serene escape near Pont Cassé on the Layou Valley Road.

Gateway to Natural Beauty

Located near Emerald Pool, Spanny Falls, and Jacko Falls, the Salton Waterfalls (its three waterfalls clustered in that area) are arguably the best. Upon arrival, visitors encounter a closed gate as this is a private property and pay a small $10 entry fee. The road down toward the falls can be challenging, so parking up top and walking down is recommended. Connected to the Belfast River, Salton Waterfalls features ten or more cascades, with the upper and lower falls being the most accessible and visually stunning.

Scenic Trails and Rugged Paths

The path to Salton Waterfalls is rugged yet easy to follow, offering hikers a scenic walk through Dominica’s lush rainforests. At the bottom, the trail narrows and splits into two: the upper trail leads to the magnificent upper falls with a plunge pool perfect for swimming, while the lower trail takes you to the newly constructed wooden deck for effortless viewing. Recent rains have enhanced the falls, creating multiple cascading streams that highlight the area’s natural resources.
