Spanny Falls
Spanny Falls or Penrice Falls is located in Saint Paul Parish and situated next to Morne Negres Marrons. The waterfall is located between the villages of Pont Casse and Belles. The hike to Spanny waterfall is a 40 minutes distance from Roseau, and one hour from Portsmouth. The trail can be accessed using Dr. Nicholas Liverpool Highway, and the hike is fairly easy and straightforward with a local guide.
You will pass through a banana plantation when you are off the road and on to the trail to Penrice Falls. You will also come to a wooden bridge and a stair with handrails to use so as to prevent a fall before reaching the Pagau River which feeds the Spanny waterfall to a pool 60 feet below. You could even use the ropes put in place to help visitors cross with ease.
This waterfall pours into a large pool of swirling water that anyone can swim and relax in.
