Wet Area

Wet Area, also known as the “Wet Area Settlement“, is located near Belles in Saint John Parish, Dominica, not within Belles itself but nearby. This settlement is renowned for its fertile soil, making it an essential zone for agricultural activities, particularly for cultivating Dasheen and various fruits. It’s between the reserves of the Central Forest and Northern Forest, and its ideal farming conditions are supported by road access that connects it to the surrounding areas, including Gleau Gommier and Belles. Although often associated with Belles due to its location, Wet Area is recognised as a distinct settlement crucial for crop production in Dominica​.
