Responsibility
- Assisting pilots with vessel navigation and docking
- Learning to operate navigation and communication equipment
- Supporting the safe maneuvering of vessels in port areas
- Gaining knowledge of maritime regulations and safety protocols
- Observing and assisting during emergency response situations
- Participating in practical training exercises
- Maintaining detailed logs and reports of navigation activities
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong interest in maritime navigation and aviation
- Basic understanding of navigation equipment and procedures
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks quickly
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority (DASPA) is charged with providing a coordinated and integrated system of airports, seaports, port services, as well as managing the assets, liabilities, resources, and functions of the ports. The DASPA Act allows the Authority to contract out any of these responsibilities, with the authorization of the Minister. DASPA provides tailgating, stevedoring and longshore services at the seaports while ground handling is provided by private local companies at the airports.
