Job Description
OYO Construction Ltd. in Dominica seeks a Civil Engineer to contribute to infrastructure projects. This role involves engineering design and project oversight within a formal construction environment. Qualified professionals with relevant experience are invited to apply.
Responsibility
- Prepare engineering designs and drawings
- Conduct site investigations and surveys
- Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data
- Develop project specifications and cost estimates
- Oversee construction activities and ensure adherence to plans
- Monitor project progress and report on status
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders
- Solve technical issues that may arise during construction
- Prepare and present technical reports
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering.
- Proven expertise in structural design, analysis, and construction, with hands-on experience in concrete and structural steel works.
- Strong technical knowledge of roads, drainage, sewage systems, and other civil infrastructure components.
- Excellent communication,and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
- Experience working in a site/field environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Project management skills
