  • Participate and contribute via DOM767’s; social network and forums

We won’t assume that you’ll support the views or the content posted on our website. There are going to be a lot of heated discussions and that’s okay. These discussions revolve around topics that we all personally care a lot about and will jealously defend.

Moderation

We have to moderate the conversations on our website. This also includes moderating all other information posted by members and visitors on Dom767.com.

Our moderators do their utmost to be sensitive to the context of the conversation especially when making decisions in moderating comments. Due to large volumes of comments, it’s impractical to engage contributors over our moderating decisions.

We reserve the right to delete comments – or ban users – without notification or explanation.

Comments

To leave a comment on the website, you need to sign up for an account. The easiest way to do this is by using a social media account.

Deleting comments

If you’ve left a comment you want to delete, just click the delete link below the comment and it’ll be deleted, There is a 24-hour time limit to do this, after that time you will not be able to delete your comment. There’s no way to restore a comment that has been deleted, and deleting a comment also deletes all of the replies to it.

Flagging comments

If a comment is offensive or inappropriate to you and includes a personal attack or insult, it’s possible to flag it to bring it to the attention of our moderators. You can do this by clicking the flag icon at the top right side of the comment header. Any user can flag an inappropriate comment.

Logging in with Facebook

Logging in with Facebook is the easiest way to sign into the website to leave comments and reactions. We also encourage people to use their real identities when commenting on the site to improve the standards of commenting by making users accountable for what they say.

The moderation process

Our moderation workflow automatically refers for moderation comments which contain certain words. When a comment has been referred for moderation, it is suspended from the site until a moderator has approved it for publishing. This usually happens within 24 hours.

If you notice a comment you’ve made doesn’t appear on the website immediately, often this is the reason why. Unless ofcourse it contains abusive language, or it violates our community standards, then it will reappear on the site within 24 hours.

Personal attacks

There is a distinction between lively criticism, argumentation, belief or style of writing and attacks on members/individuals. Comments that are abusive to other commenters or our contributors will not be tolerated.

Hate-speech and inciting violence

We will not tolerate racist, religion, origin, sexual orientation, gender, and other discriminatory language or views. The same applies to comments that are defamatory, malicious, threatening, offensive or abusive. Comments which incite violence or appear threatening or harassing will also be deleted – and those users banned.

Bad language or indecency

Comments which include swear words will automatically be added for moderation and most probably be deleted. Swearing at another user will mean automatic deletion of comment and possibly banning of the user. (see: ‘Personal attacks’). Absolutely no posting of any content which is indecent, or of a sexual nature.

Repetition

Our moderating system will automatically flag comments from the same user in a single thread if they exceed the frequency limit.  This is intended to encourage interaction and prevent a single user from dominating the debate.

Spam

Natureisle News is intended as a platform for exchanging of views and building community. Multiple posts and comments intended to sell a product or promote commercial interests will be deleted.
