20-Year-Old Savahnn James Becomes Miss Dominica National Queen Pageant 2020
Twenty-year-old Savahnn James becomes Miss Dominica National Queen Pageant 2020. The new queen from Roseau said she is a “city gem” and ready to bring the real Mas to the island. James is also the Miss National Bank of Dominica, and Greens Wholesale. She equally got the awards for Best Talent and Best Response to Questions.
Marisol John, winner of the national queen pageant in 2019, crowned James as the new queen. Other winners are –
- Primrose David – second winner – received winning awards for Best Swimwear, Best in Swimwear, and Best in Evening Wear
- Shannon
St.Hillaire – third winner – received winning awards for Miss Photogenic,
Best Costume, Best in Costume and Best Evening Wear
Other contestants include Kadisha Joseph, Elnarrah Emmanuel, Kimra Charles, and Melanie Charles who was awarded the Miss Amity award.
The event was hosted by Raymond Lawrence and Ferdina Frampton; and some of the musical casts for the pageant show were Tasha P, Marsha, and Malik De Examiner Darroux, the reigning Junior Calypso Monarch.
In a related event, Bouyon pioneer and renowned musician, Cornell “Fingers” Phillip, has called for Bouyon artistes to hold a writers or producers camp in order to promote Bouyon Music. The former WCK Band member and 2018 Golden Drum Award winner said Bouyon would be better elevated if the lyrics improved and artistes got their act together via a camp training and meeting.
