26 Individuals to Receive Newly Constructed Resilient Homes in Bellevue Rawle
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Reginald Austrie, has disclosed that 26 individuals will receive the keys to newly constructed resilent homes in Bellevue Rawle. The new houses were constructed by the DLP administration in partnership with MMCE.
Austrie said the PM Skerrit-led government continues to deliver on its promise to provide quality housing to every eligible individual in Dominica. He noted that each of the houses contains three bedrooms, and they feature concrete and aesthetic roofing, as well as solar water heaters to meet the needs of family occupants.
According to the housing minister, the Bellevue Rawle housing project will accommodate up to 114 individuals from the 26 families who are beneficiaries of the houses. He said the lives of these people will be positively impacted with the new houses and that the government remains committed to putting smiles on the faces of citizens.
The housing project across Dominica has witnessed the construction of 897 resilient homes which have been given away to qualified people on the island. Austrie said the prime minister has not allowed the scourge of the COVID-19 pandemic to dampen the drive to provide free houses to eligible citizens across the country, and that he remains devoted to the welfare of the people on all fronts.
