A delegation of 29 companies from Trinidad and Tobago is actively engaging with Dominican businesses as part of a trade mission organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA). Led by Minister of Trade Paula Gopee-Scoon, the mission aims to enhance commercial ties and explore opportunities for expanding Trinidadian exports to Dominica.
The visiting companies represent diverse sectors, including food and beverage, construction, printing, packaging, chemicals, and services. Participants such as Angostura Ltd, Blue Waters Ltd, and Novo Farms will attend business-to-business meetings to gather market insights and establish new partnerships within Dominica.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, Trinidad and Tobago already enjoys a positive trade balance with Dominica. The mission seeks to capitalize on this advantage by enabling companies to gain deeper penetration into the Dominican market and identify opportunities to boost exports.
Ministerial discussions are also scheduled with key Dominican government agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy. These engagements aim to strengthen bilateral trade relations and advance export initiatives for Trinidadian businesses.
The mission’s agenda includes meetings with the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce and the Dominica Manufacturers Association, with the goal of fostering collaboration and addressing mutual trade interests.
The delegation, which arrived in Dominica on January 19, is set to remain until January 22. This initiative marks a significant step in solidifying the trade partnership between the two nations, ensuring mutual economic benefits and paving the way for future collaborations.
