53 Houses Will Be Ready For Paix Bouche Constituency Residents by End of 2020
Fifty-three climate-resilient houses will soon be available for residents in the Paix Bouche constituency. This was disclosed by the Minister for Sports, Culture, and Community Development, Roslyn Paul, during PM Roosevelt Skerrit’s Anou Palay Sunday programmes. The minister said the houses will be ready and handed over to new owners by the end of 2020.
She explained that the Skerrit administration has spent over $5 million to construct resilient housing for people across Dominica following the passage of Hurricane Maria, and that almost every eligible family will own a home in due course.
Paul urged people to believe in the DLP government since it has the interests and welfare of the common people at heart. She noted that apart from the 53 Paix Bouche houses that will be ready for individual families by the end of this year, her ministry is also collaborating with youths in Paix Bouche to develop sporting facilities and boost youth involvement in local governance.
She said that she worked closely with the youths of the constituency, notably the Paix Bouche Basketball Club, to renovate and install lighting in the basketball court in the constituency. The DLP minister revealed that the government expended $43,000 to remodel the basketball court and over $6,000 to provide lighting.
“I have been working very closely with young people and sports clubs,” Paul stated. “Within the constituency we have been working together, the various sports club and myself we have done tremendous work on the Paix Bouche Basketball Court and the outcome has been great.”
