898 Dominican Students Sit for CSEC across 19 Centres

A total of 898 Dominican students are writing the 2022 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination. The examination will hold from May 23 to June 24, 2022 across 19 centres in Dominica. Local CXC Registrar, Magalie Celestine, said 70 education officers will serve as invigilators and centre supervisors during the examination.

Disclosing that Paper 1 will hold online and some Paper 2 subjects will also hold online in select schools, Celestine said 136 students will sit for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and 553 students will sit for the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC).

According to the national CXC registrar, the Dominica Institute for the Arts and St. John’s Academy are offering CAPE for the first time ever. She advised all students sitting for the examinations to have their writing materials with them in case there is need for paper examinations. She also urged any student that contracts COVID-19 during the examinations to inform their school principals immediately for necessary action.

Meanwhile, the regional CEO and Registrar of CXC, Dr. Wayne Wesley, expressed goodwill message to the students and urged them to abide by all examination rules.
