Acting Police Chief Confirms Promotions of 24 Police Officers
Twenty four police officers have been promoted to new ranks under the leadership of Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette. The overall police head disclosed that the Police Service Commission (PSC) promoted 10 officers while he promoted 14. Corbette promoted 10 constables to the rank of corporals and four to acting corporals.
According to Corbette, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Davidson Valerie has now been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police beginning from September 1, 2020. Corbette said the promotion exercise has simplified his work and that it will go a long way to boost morale in the police force. Two of the 10 new corporals are women, he said.
“I am at this time extremely happy with the promotions made by the PSC which makes my job much easier and the general membership is ecstatic and happy for what was done,” Corbette said. “Twenty-four promotions were made; this has never happened before in the police force. The PSC made 10; I made 10, and also four acting corporals. I think that’s a record which we have never seen before.”
Some of the police officers promoted are:
