His Excellency Lin Xianjiang, the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, has announced his imminent departure to assume a new role in Beijing. During a special event commemorating the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Dominica and China, held at the Chinese Embassy in Dominica, Ambassador Lin shared his plans to leave “very soon.”
Having presented his credentials to Dominica’s former President Charles Savarin on November 22, 2021, Ambassador Lin has played a pivotal role as the sixth ambassador in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations. He expressed deep gratitude for the support received during his tenure from the government and people of Dominica, emphasizing his commitment to continue championing the China-Dominica cooperation from Beijing.
Under Lin’s ambassadorship, the relationship between China and Dominica flourished, characterized by mutual support in developmental pursuits and coordination on global issues like climate change and disaster mitigation. Lin praised the resilient partnership that has weathered global changes, branding the nations as “most reliable partners.”
Ambassador Lin highlighted the significant achievements in recent years, noting China’s involvement in reconstructing schools post-hurricane and heralding a “golden age” in China-Dominica relations under Prime Minister Skerrit’s leadership. The cooperation has focused on infrastructural projects and fostering political dialogue and shared governance insights between the Communist Party of China and the Dominica Labour Party.
As he bids farewell, Ambassador Lin envisions a future where the friendship between China and Dominica continues to thrive, contributing positively to both countries’ peoples. He looks forward to another 20 years of fruitful collaboration, underscoring the importance of joint efforts in promoting global development, security, and cultural initiatives.
