Annou Sélébwé! Market Day with a Difference for Saturday, October 28
Come Saturday 28th October 2023, the Roseau Market will celebrate the annual Market Day with a Difference (Jounen La Place Épi Yon Diféwans) under the theme Annou Sélébwé (Let’s Celebrate). Organised by the Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA), which is the Roseau Market Authority, the event will honour the vendors, shopkeepers, farmers, and other individuals whose services give life to the Market each week. It all commences with an official ceremony at 8 a.m.
The President, Her Excellency Sylvanie Burton, Mr. Burton, the Hon. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, and Parliamentary representative for Roseau Central (where the Market is based) Melissa Skerrit, and other government and official invitees are expected to attend and end their time at the Market with an official tour.
As usual, prizes will be given for “Best Decorated Stall,” “Best Decorated Shop,” “Best Dressed Vendor,” “Best Dressed Customer,” and “Vendor Most Fluent in Kwéyòl” and this year there will be a “Motivational Award.”
It’s an award given to an individual we have observed making improvements to themselves and their service over the past year and who also and very importantly has been paying their dues in a timely manner.

She says patrons can look forward to enjoying a festive atmosphere with live drumming, cultural performances and local food galore.
“Put on your best madras, come hungry, and patronize our vendors this Saturday. Annou Sélébwé!”
All are welcome to the New Roseau Market Saturday 28th October from 8 am for Market Day with a Difference 2023.
