Attorney Wayne Norde to Contest for Roseau South as Independent Candidate
Attorney-at-law Wayne Norde is contesting for Roseau South Constituency in the December 6 snap election as an independent candidate. Norde said he is running a grassroots movement and not affiliated to any political party in Dominica. He asked the people of Roseau North for just the chance to represent them effectively in parliament.
Campaigning with a motorcade in Roseau on Friday, Norde asked the people for the necessary votes to represent them in the areas of employment, sports, culture, security, and social affairs. He stated that it is the will of God for him to be in politics since this was never something he planned to venture into before this time, but as a result of coincidental events.
The lawyer said that all he needs is a chance to represent the people.
All I am asking for from Roseau South is a chance. A chance to represent you properly. I am from Kingshill. My roots are in Newtown. I live in Giraudel. I have a lot of friends in Bath Estate. I have acquaintances in Elmshall, Loubiere and all the environs. So I am saying to you that I am the ideal man to represent you; because I know you, I know your culture, I know your heart, I know what we live for in Roseau South.

The independent candidate has chosen the colour yellow for his code. The DLP represented Roseau South Constituency in the 2000, 2005, and 2009 general elections; and the UWP won the seat in 2014 before it went back to the DLP in 2019. Norde is optimistic that he can defeat the political machineries of the ruling and opposition parties to emerge as the elected candidate for the constituency in December, 2022.
