Authorities Warn Returnees to Familiarize Themselves with Entry Requirements
The CEO of the Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority (DASPA) has warned visitors and citizens coming into the country to familiarize themselves with entry requirements before arriving the country. According to Benoit Bardouille, intending visitors and returnees must upload the results of their COVID-19 tests 24-72 hours before getting on the plane or ship.
“Passengers who wish to travel to Dominica by air or sea should ensure that before booking or securing a flight or passage as a passenger on a vessel or an aircraft that they should become familiar with the pre-arrival requirements,” Bardouille said. “Passengers must go online and submit, fill in the health questionnaire prior to purchasing or confirming an airline ticket or seat on a passenger vessel or aircraft before travelling to Dominica.”

The DASPA head disclosed that 1,317 people on 298 flights have come into Dominica between July 15 and September 2020. He added that about 1,305 people have also left the island through the Douglas Charles and Canefield airports within the given time-frame.
About six new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country since borders were reopened several weeks ago. The government continues to ensure that anyone who comes into the country gets tested for COVID-19 and that they undergo 14 days of mandatory isolation to be certain that they are not infected with the disease before they enter the general society in Dominica.
